Under this PM Scholarship Scheme 2025 government offers a total of 5500 to both girl and boy students. Out of this, 2750 are given to boys, and the rest of 2750 are available for Girls students. Under this scheme government offers separate financial assistance to both girl and boy students selected by the government.
Under this PM Scholarship Scheme 2025 amount will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of selected students for a period of one to five years, as per the duration of the courses approved by the concerned regulatory bodies. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for PM Scholarship Scheme 2025, applicant must have to clear the following eligibility criteria’s these are as follows:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
- Applicant must be a Dependent Wards / Widows of Ex-Servicemen & Ex Coast Guard personnel.
- Applicants who have been admitted in the 1st year (except for Lateral Entry & Integrated Course) are only eligible to apply for the PM Scholarship Scheme.
- Applicant must have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ), i.e., 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.
- Applicants studying in 2nd or subsequent years are not eligible (except for integrated courses – where the 1st portion is academic and the 2nd portion is integrated as professional courses).
Exclusion Criteria
- Wards of Civilians, including Para-Military Personnel, are not eligible.
- Only two wards of an ex-serviceman are eligible for this scholarship scheme.
- Students studying abroad, as well as the distance learning case, are not eligible for PMSS.
Eligible Courses
- Under this first professional degree courses, such as BE, B Tech, BDS, MBBS, B Ed, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, etc., duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies, such as All India Council for Technical Education, Medical Council of India, UGC, are covered under the PM Scholarship Scheme
Priority Holders
Under this PM Scholarship Scheme 2025, category-wise priority is given to the students for the selection of candidates these are as listed below:-
- Category 1:- Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel killed in action.
- Category 2:- Wards of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in action and boarded out of service with disability attributable to Military / Coast Guard service.
- Category 3:- Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel who died while in service for causes attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.
- Category 4:- Wards of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in service with disability attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.
- Category 5:- Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel in receipt of gallantry awards.
- Category 6:- Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel (PBOR Only).
Scholarship for Integrated Courses
- Under the PMS scholarship scheme selection of those students who wish to pursue dual degree integrated courses is based on these parameters below:-
- The minimum educational qualification will be 10 + 2 however, when applying a students need to upload their mark sheet of 10 + 2 in all cases, first year and 2nd year, all semesters, where the first course is non-professional.
Types of Integrated Courses
There are two types of integrated courses under the PM Scholarship Scheme, these are as listed below
- Integrated Courses (Professional/Technical):- These types of dual degree courses include BE + ME, B.tech + M.tech, BBA + MBA, etc In such cases, only the first professional degree will be granted as a scholarship.
- Integrated Courses Academic/Professional:- Under these type of dual courses first degree as academic( Non Professional) and a second one is as a Professional/Technical such as BA + LLB, BCom + LLB, BSc + B.Ed in such cases student will be paid only for the professional part of the course and not for the non Professional academy part.
Case 1:-Those students pursuing integrated courses wherein 1 degree is professional and the other degree is non-professional, then they will be awarded a scholarship for only the professional portion of the dual degree course, not for the academic portion of such a course, for example:-
In B.Com + LLB (dual degree course), 1st degree is B.Com, which is a non-professional and the second one is LLB, which is a professional degree. Therefore, scholarship is provided only for the professional portion of the course, which is LLB.
Case 2:- When the first degree is non-professional and the second degree is professional, in this case, while seeking a PM scholarship from the third year onward student must have completed his previous 2 years of non-professional courses without fail/repetition/failure will make the student ineligible to apply for this scholarship
- Note:-Student must have to clear all subjects of first and second year in the first attempt and within the prescribed time frame from the date of admission, otherwise they will be rejected for the award of scholarship, and the application will not be considered.

- CASE 1:- WHEN 1ST DEGREE IS NON-PROFESSIONAL & 2ND THE SECOND DEGREE IS PROFESSIONAL, THEN ONLY THE PROFESSIONAL COMPONENT OF THE DUAL DEGREE COURSE WILL BE AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP
