About Assam Arunodoi Scheme 2025
The “Assam Arunodoi” is one of the famous welfare schemes launched by the government of Assam to alleviate poverty among economically disadvantaged families by providing financial assistance to selected and needy residents through direct bank transfer to the bank account of the nominated woman of the family.
Under this scheme government provides monthly financial assistance to the eligible beneficiaries for procuring medicines, pulses, and sugar wear in Rs 400 per family per month is to be given to each beneficiary family for procuring medicines to take care of their health needs. Objective of Assam Arunodoi
The main objective of the scheme is to provide monthly financial benefits to economically deprived families, ensuring a minimum guarantee to the poorest for nutrition and health. Under this scheme, deserving residents will receive the amount on the first day of every month starting from October 2020. Women residents, being the primary category of the family, are kept as beneficiaries of the scheme. The scheme will enhance its previous amount of Rs 830 per month to Rs 1000 per month directly into the bank accounts of selected women beneficiaries.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scheme, applicants must have to meet the following eligibility criteria and these are as mentioned below:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Applicant must be a woman resident of the state.
- Applicant must belong to BPL families in the state.
- Age of the applying applicant must be more than 18 years at the time of application.
- The age of the unmarried woman beneficiary must be more than 45 years.
- Applicant must have their own bank account in the name of their own name linked with an Aadhar card.
- The annual income of the applying candidate’s family must be less than Rs 2 lakh per annum from all sources of income.
- Priority will be given to women who come under these categories, including widows, divorced females, unmarried females, separated females, any specially able member in the family, and family’s whether they cover under the national food security act or not.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Male residents are not eligible to apply for the scheme.
- Applicants receiving financial assistance such as pension, scholarship, etc, under any State or Central Government Scheme would be ineligible.
- Applicants who are current or former Members of Parliament (MP) or Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) are not eligible for the same.
- An applicant who is an income taxpayer is not eligible for the scheme.
- An applicant who is employed as a regular or contractual employee in the State Government, or Government of India, or Public Sector Undertaking, or Board, or Local Body, or the Government is ineligible to apply.
- An applicant who is the owner of a 4-wheeler Motor Vehicle is not eligible to apply for the scheme.
- The annual income of the candidate’s family of more than Rs 2 lakh per annum is ineligible to apply.
