Objective of Gujarat Vahli Dikri Scheme
The main objective of this scheme is to encourage families to educate and nurture their daughters by providing cash incentives, free education, and insurance coverage, reducing school dropout rate among girls, and promoting higher education among the girl child. The main aim of this scheme is to foster gender equality and ensure a brighter future for young girls of Gujarat.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Vahli Dikri, the applicant needs to clear the following eligibility criteria, these are as follows:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
- Applicant must be one of the first two girl children of the family.
- Girls born on or after August 2019 are eligible for financial assistance.
- The annual income of the applying candidate’s family must be less than Rs 2 lakh per annum from all sources of income.
- Applicant must have a valid Aadhar-linked bank account.
Financial Benefits
Under this scheme, financial assistance is given at three different stages, these are as follows:-
- First, financial assistance of Rs. 4000 is given at the time of application in the first standard.
- Second financial assistance of Rs. 6000 at the time of admission in class 9th.
- Last but not least, financial support of Rs 1 lakh at the age of 18 years for higher education or the marriage of the girl daughter.
