The primary objective of this scheme is to provide a monthly financial allowance to women residents of the state who are struggling with financial difficulties to meet their day-to-day needs and requirements. Under this scheme, the government targets women residents aged between 21 to 65 years old, by providing financial help to them so that they can meet their regular expenses without any financial issues and improve their quality of life in the state.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme, the applicant needs to meet some eligibility criteria’s and these criteria are as mentioned below:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
- Applicant must be a woman resident of the state.
- The age of the women must be between 21 to 65 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicant must have their own bank account seeded with an Aadhar card.
- The annual income of women family must be less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum from all sources of income.
- Applicants who are married women, widowed, divorced women abandoned and destitute women, or one unmarried woman in the family can also apply for this scheme.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Males are ineligible to apply for the scheme.
- An applicant family member who is an income taxpayer is not eligible to apply for the same.
- Applicant’s family members working as regular permanent/employees in a government department/ undertaking /board /Government of India local body of the State government or drawing pensions after retirement.
- Applicant family members who a present or former MP MLA are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants who have a four-wheeler excluding a tractor, registered in the name of their family members, are not eligible.
- An annual income of the applicant’s family above 2.5 lakh per annum is not eligible to apply for the scheme.
