About Shramik Card

The E-Shram is a key card designed by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India for those citizens who are working in the unorganized sector. Under this, the government targets those workers whose age is between 16-59 years working in the unorganized sector in the country. By presenting these cards, the government aims to allow workers to avail various welfare benefits from the government in the form of pensions after attaining 60 years, death insurance, and other related benefits.

 What is the Unorganized Sector?

The unorganized sector refers to workers in the informal or unregistered economy, including establishments or units engaged in selling services, goods, or production, and employs fewer than ten workers. These types of units are not covered under the ESIC and EPFO. Under this, an individual who is not a member of ESIC or EPFO and is a home-based worker, self-employed worker, or a worker engaged in the unorganized sector is termed as an unorganized sector.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for, E-Shram Card, the applicant needs to clear the following eligibility criteria’s these are as mentioned below:-

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
  • Applicant must be a worker by profession in the unorganized sector.
  • Age of the worker must be between 16-59 years at the time of application.
  • Applicant must not be an income taxpayer.
  • Applicant must have a valid mobile number linked with an Aadhaar card.

Benefits of the Shramik Card

  • Monthly Pension Support:- Under this, after a worker attains 60 years will get a monthly pension support of Rs 3,000 in their bank accounts.
  • Death Insurance Coverage:- Under this card government provides death insurance coverage of up to Rs 2,00,000 and financial aid of Rs 1,00,000 in case of disability of a worker.
  • Special Case:- There is a special support given to the spouse if a worker in the unorganized sector dies due to a mishap, accident, then all the benefits are given to the wife of the worker.
  • Receive UAN Number:- Under this, workers receive a 12-digit UAN number applicable throughout the country India.
  • Target Beneficiaries:- E-Shram is given only to those workers whose age is between 16-59 years and who work in the unorganized sector in the country.

How to Register for E-Shram Card 2025?

To register for the E-Shram card, the applicant needs to follow these steps:-

  • Visit the official e-Shram Portal.
  • The home page of the official website will appear on the screen.

E-Shramik Card

  • Now applicant needs to locate and click on the Register on eShram option under the One Stop Solution tab.
  • As the applicant clicks, the self-registration form will appear on the screen.

e-Shram Card

  • Now the applicant needs to enter their Aadhar link mobile number, captcha code, select if you are an active member of EPFO and ESIC, and click on the option called Send OTP
  • As the applicant clicks OTP, is triggered on your registered mobile number.
  • Now the applicant needs to enter the OTP and click on the submit button
  • After that applicant needs to complete the Aadhar e-KYC form, select register using Aadhar number, enter your Aadhaar number, select OTP, enter the captcha code, and agree to the consent and click on the Submit option.
  • The applicant now needs to validate the OTP by entering the OTP number and the captcha code displayed in the image.
  • After that applicant needs to confirm that all the personal details appear on the screen and click on the Continue button to proceed further to enter the other details.
  • Now the applicant needs to enter their personal information, including address, occupation, educational qualification, and bank account details in the given space.
  • After that applicant needs to select self-declaration and click on the Submit
  • As the applicant clicks, the Shram Card is generated and displayed on the screen.
  • At last, click on the Download icon to download the e-Sharam card to your device.

How to Check E-Shram Card Balance?

To check the balance of your Shram Card applicant needs to follow these steps:-

  • Visit the official e-Shram website.
  • The home page of the official website will appear on the screen.

e-Shramik Card

  • Now applicant needs to locate and click on the “Login” option under the One Stop Solution tab.
  • As the applicant clicks, a login page will appear on the screen.
  • Now the applicant needs to enter their Aadhar link mobile number, captcha code, and click on the option called Send OTP.
  • As the applicant clicks, OTP is triggered on your registered mobile number.

Shramik Card

  • Now, the applicant needs to enter the OTP received along with the captcha code and click on the Submit
  • After that applicant needs to enter their Aadhaar number, select OTP, enter the captcha code and and click on the Submit option.
  • The applicant now needs to validate the OTP by entering the OTP number and the captcha code displayed in the image.
  • After that, the applicant needs to navigate to the “My Account” section on the dashboard.
  • At last, click on the Check Balance button to see the balance in your E-Shram Card.
