With the aim of Housing for All, the Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmer Welfare, and Rural Development, Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, on 17th May 2025, announced the approval of 3.73 lakh more houses under PMAY-G to connect more homeless citizens under this initiative. Through this announcement government aims to ensure that every citizen who doesn’t have their own house can receive through increment of additional houses approved by the government under PMAY-G.

By offering this scheme government aims to cover a total of 26 lakh beneficiaries of Assam state who have participated in the scheme, and 20 lakh houses have been completed by the state government. With the help of this, the government aims to include more and more homeless citizens, ensuring that no one is left out of receiving housing aid under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
