About Dr. Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme
The Dr. Muthulakshmi Maternity Reddy Benefit Scheme is a significant move towards solving maternal and neonatal mortality, taken by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the state. Under this scheme, each year the government targets a total of 8 lakh pregnant and lactating mothers in the state. Under this scheme government provides financial aid of up to Rs. 18,000 in cash to pregnant women in the state. Under this first amount of Rs. 4,000 would be given to each expectant mother. During the seventh month of pregnancy, this provides all necessary health care to expectant mothers, on the other hand, the second amount of Rs. 4,000 would be given to the mother following the birth.
Under this those mothers who give birth at government or local body institutions are applicable for this, once the new born baby has received the third dosage of the DPT, hepatitis, and polio vaccines, the mother will receive the third installment, which is Rs. 4000. Over 10k Women Benefited in Trichy
As per the latest updates, a total of 10,000 pregnant female residents in Trichy will receive the benefits under the scheme. Under this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance of INR 18000 to all the deserving pregnant mothers of Trichy City. Out of INR 18,000, a total of INR 14,000 in cash rewards in the form of instalments.
Under this, two installments of INR 6,000 is given in the fourth month of pregnancy and after the fourth month of delivery, and the rest of INR 2,000 after the ninth month of delivery. The remaining 4000 will be divided into two nutritional kits, which will be provided to the selected females at different intervals of time.

Eligibility Criteria
