Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, clear the following requirements below:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
- The age of the applying candidate must be between 21 to 24 years (at the time of the application).
- Applicant must not be a full-time employee.
- Applicant must not be engaged in full-time education.
- Applicants enrolled in online/distance learning programmes are eligible to apply.
- Applicant completed High School, Higher Secondary School, possess a certificate from an ITI, hold a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or are graduates with degrees such as BA, B.SC, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.
- Annual income of the applying candidate’s family must not be more than Rs 8 lakhs.
Exclusion Criteria
- Applicants who graduated from IITs, IIMs, IISER, NIDS, IIITs, and National Law University are not able to apply.
- Applicants having any master’s or higher degree, including MBBS, BDS, CA, CMA, CS, MBA, etc, are not able to apply
- Applicants engaged in any skill, internship, or student training program under the central or state government are ineligible for the scheme.
- Applicants who completed their apprenticeship training in NATS or NAPS are not able to apply
- Applicant who is either permanent or regular employee of the government are not able to apply.
- Annual income of the applying candidate’s family is more than Rs 8 lakhs are not eligible to apply
No of Internships
- Under this, internship program candidates can apply for up to 3 internship options in one cycle, which can be selected based on the preferred location, sector, and field of the candidate.
- Out of three internship options candidate can receive a maximum of up to three internship offers. Once an offer is received, the candidate may accept or reject the offer within the fixed time window.

- Under this PM Internship Scheme, a total of the top 500 companies have been selected by the ministry as per their average CSR expenditure of the previous three years.
