The Government of India has launched the National Scholarship Portal 2025 for meritorious students who wish to apply for any of the scholarship schemes available on NSP. Under this portal government provides all types of scholarship programs, whether Central, State, or UT. About National Scholarship Portal 2025?
The “National Scholarship Portal 2025 (NSP)” is a central hub for all types of scholarship programs designed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, for students at different academic levels. This portal allows students to apply for various scholarship programs provided by the central, state, as well as other government and non-government organizations like UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
Under this NSP Scholarship Scheme government provides financial aid to students from all communities across India by supporting their education from pre-metric to post-metric levels. It especially targets EWS and minority communities, and also students with disabilities. This portal is designed to simplify the application, disbursement management process for students all over the country, enabling them to pursue their education without any financial burden and carry their educational expenses easily without any dependence on others.

NSP Login Portal Latest Update
There are two features introduced by NSP on the national scholarship portal, these are as listed below:-
- One Time Registration (OTR):- This OTR feature has been introduced by the government on NSP to simplify the process of application. This OTR is a unique 14-digit number issued based on Aadhar or Aadhar enrollment ID that is used by students for all subsequent scholarship applications throughout their academic period. OTR is useful for submitting both new and renewable applications. Once the application of the student is completed successfully, an OTR ID will be provided to the student for a smooth and transparent process.
- Aadhar Linking:- Under this feature government allows students to link their Aadhar with their mobile and also their bank account to receive financial benefits. Under this Aadhar verification process has been updated with enhanced security measures. Through the help of this feature, students can easily link their Aadhar with their bank account and receive benefits from various scholarship programs.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the National Scholarship, an applicant needs to clear some of the eligibility requirements, and these are as follows:-
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
- Applicant must be a student by profession.
- Applicant must be enrolled in a school, college, or University offering a recognized educational program
- Applicant must be a meritorious student have a good academic record the available schemes on NSP.
- Applicant must belong to specific communities such as SC, ST, OBC, and the minority communities.
- The annual income of the applying candidate’s family must lie in a specific range decided by the authorities.
- Applicant can apply to a range of courses starting from school education to professional programs.
- The meritorious students of SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories can apply for NSP 2025-26 pre-matric and post-matric scholarships
- Single girl children can apply for the PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship offered by UGC through the National Scholarship Portal login.
- Meritorious students of all categories can apply for a UGC scholarship and receive financial aid for pursuing higher studies.
